Since I've Been Loving You

Why Zeppelin? It's the birthday of this dude. Pay your respects, bastards.

Why this song? Nice musical coda to yesterday, perhaps.

Why this post? I can't think of anything to write about.

"Why all the black?"
"Why all the pearls? Why all the hair? Why anything?"
"You look a little nervous, Dad."
"No, YOU look a little nervous, Lisa!"
"You're up to something, aren't ya?"
"No! I'm just going out to commit certain deeds. Suckers."

Dude, that has always been one of my favorite Zeppelin tunes. I almost put my Led Zep T-shirt on yesterday under my standard polo and then one my students has on the same shirt - wtf.

The good thing is I picked my "Math Is Hard Shirt" instead.

mathman, it's a great, great song. And I can't figure it out either. On campus, I'm always seeing kids wearing the shirts of someone I've never heard of, or Zeppelin or the Beatles or the Doors. The weirdest though is seeing the kids in middle school with Back In Black shirts, kids that weren't even alive when The Razors Edge came out!

Tom, time to put on some Zep. If only I hadn't snorted all my blow earlier.

It's also the birthday of this dude, which is all the proof anyone should ever need that astrology is 100% full of shit.

Is that last bit from the Simpson's? I hate to admit I did not play the clip. It is late and my cat is asleep and I didn't want to scare him.

Sure, for you, I will wish Robert Plant or Page or Palmer, or whatever his name is,a Happy Birthday.

I can't think of anything funny, witty, angry or cool to say. I'm in a funk. C'est la vie.

I baked him a birthday cake. What more do you want? Balloons? Party hats? Martinis? Yeah, martinis for everyone.

dcap, see, you're not as old as you thought!

AC, oh he'll pay. Don't think he won't pay!

LBR, you don't need to play the clip because you already own all the Zeppelin albums, right? Right?

Colleen, the funk is a time honored tradition of us loons. Don't sweat it.

POP, you had me at martinis. Which, admittedly, was the last part of your comment. I hope you've learned your lesson!

Hey, you bring me some of your secret stash, we'll bake another cake! Or some brownies!

I must have subconsciously known it was their birthday or something. I have been listening to XM LED that plays only led zepplin all week long.
Gotta love it!

Zeppelin was always viewed through a mystical lens, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that Messrs. Page, Plant and Jones where sending you subliminal messages to turn on the Zep channel!

I want that shirt, Mathman.

Randal, I didn't comment, but have listened to this a couple times here in the last day or so and then proceeded to hear this very song on the radio and at the grocery store both. (It was a pretty cool grocery store.)

Wait. You heard Zeppelin on the radio and it wasn't Whole Lotta Love or Rock and Roll? And then you heard that same 7+ minute song at a grocery store?

Rock and roll capital of the world my ass. Cleveland sucks. I'm moving down there.
