Reverie

Tried writing last night while listening to some Robert Schumann. That remains a deceased end -- the writing, not Robert, as he's been a corpse for a good while already -- like everything else, so here's a couple of legitimately talented dudes, Heinrich Neuhaus playing parts one and two of Schumann's Kreisleriana.

I love classical piano. Thanks Randal. ;)

That was lovely. And way more highbrow than what I usually fill my head with. Thanks!

I hope for swift and prodigious return of your muse.

dusty, who doesn't love the works of a romantic, syphilitic madman?

Is it even possible to be a hopeful cynic? It's quite an obvious contradiction of terms but since I like music too I thought I'd remind you of Yma Sumac whose best days were before film but thankfully not before decent recording technology.

Did I ever mention the woman I overheard at a record store asking a bemused clerk for an original Beethoven symphony where he played with his band?

SIMPLY GORGEOUS !!! Who needs sex when you have Schumann???

Never mind.

I have got to get back to my piano playing. I fired my piano teacher a few months ago because he kept wanting to give me back rubs rather than working on my Chopin preludes. I know. It's too weird.

But you know, Randal, I have 50% in common with Schumann. I am Mad (insane, bonkers, off my rocker, cuck-koo, what have you) but at least I haven't syphyllis.

So how do you like THAT logic?

hill, hey, I got shots, I'm all clean now ;-)

susan, I'd like to think I'm that, but the cynic usually wins.

Heh heh, was that before or after he lost his hearing. Everyone loves mad Ludwig.

anita, um, I like me some Schumann, but yikes. Inappropriate perhaps but not weird, you being a groovy mad chick and all that. Dude, I'm like the best drunk typist ever. Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Wow! That's a beautiful piece. But I'm with Bubs... I feel like I need to wear a tuxedo and eat pate or truffled quail eggs... Can you give me something I can drink a beer and eat an italian hero (hoagie or sub) to? I'm just sayin...

Spartacus, Randal needs to post some Billy Joel for you (Vienna?).

Unfortunately I think most of Billy Joel's videos have been embedding disabled.

Yeah, like Billy Joel's gonna suffer financially if somebody posts his videos on their blog.

I come with only one message to deliver. Damned right the Cowboys kicked the Giants asses!

I shall now be on my way.

I agree PoP... I know a good ass-kicking when I see one and the Giants got theirs from dem' Cowboys for sure.

spartacus, classical ain't just for the stuffy shirts. Put on some Mahler and eat your hoagie. ;-)

anita, like I'd ever post a Billy Joel video here anyway. Unless I did a clash of the titans, Joel vs. Manilow!

POP, doesn't take away from the fact that Owens is a fucking tool.

spartacus, all I've got to say is go Eagles in week 17.
