Everything? Fuck that.
Prelude: Processing periodicals yesterday afternoon (no faun sightings), I arrived at the latest issue of Gramophone, the cover story being that of the man whose quote I cleverly altered above. And being the kind-hearted bloke that I am, for your pleasure, in lieu of more pointless and nonsensical bullshit, here's some of the man's work.
Ha ha, fooled you!
Oh, alright, here, you salivating dogs.
Ha ha encore. Gotta pay the bills. The world ain't cheap.
No complaining that it's too long, you attention-deficit wankers.

A post must be like the world. It must contain everything.

I don't think it's long enough, so what sort of wanker am I?
Would the Freedom Rock viddy fall under the category, "self spamming"?
That Mahler is NOT going well with my Chopin this a.m. I suppose we ought to coordinate in the future.
That Mahler is NOT going well with my Nyquil this a.m. I don't think we ought to coordinate in the future, though, because I find you morally reprehensible.
holte, spoken like a typical European.
mrmacrum, I can't hear you, someone turned it up, man.
lisa, you better not post any Mahler tomorrow to counteract my Chopin.
übermilf, just once, I'd like to be immorally hensible.
"übermilf, just once, I'd like to be immorally hensible."
Looks like you have reached that first level called pre-hensile. Good job. Living in Cleveland is not having as much of an affect as I thought it might.
Some day, I see post-hensile as a distinct possibilty. Only you will have to enjoy it in private.
"Remember the good old day? Going to war? Protests!... Jail!!!"
Even though I don't. I do. Make sense??
This album does contain one of my favorite songs though... "White Room" by Cream. Love that song!!!
I'm calling now to order the album.... :)
Freedom Rock ~ wait for it... "ROCKS!!"
((Hugs))
Laura
Graves, you swine!
Just when I think I know better than to click on any of your music videos, you have to do the old switcheroo and actually play something that doesn't make me want to chase the neighbor kids with a compost fork.
WTF is up with that?
Regards,
Tengrain
Your Mahler got into my peanut butter. And, FYI, there wasn't enough Doug Henning in this post.
Have I mentioned that Doug Henning was Canadian?
I'm not sure I've stuck it to you properly that Canada beat the U.S. hockey team yet!
Ah well.. we won. That's all that matters.... :P
Thank you on behalf of the Salivating Dog Community.
Good post, Randal. You certainly delivered on variety. The clip with the CEOs almost captures their raison d'etre, but they should've said: "Stick it to 'em, man." and "Every chance I get."
I suspect you chose the Freedom Rock commercial because you recognize those hippies from your wheelie bus commutes. But hey, it had a half second of "Fire and Rain," so it's not all pathetically hokey.
And for a touch of class, Bernstein conducting Mahler. Whew.
Re: processing periodicals. Now we know what happens to the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue every year. :)
The Freedom Rock commercial would have been far better with two bra-less Earth Momma babes. Throw in a couple of "free love" posters behind them and the effect while subtle would have been enormous.
Freedom Rock. Hahaha... 2 records.
Oh, and Fawn Liebowitz died. And yes, it's still too early.
There's nothing sadder than seeing the company group photograph with the aging braless hippie chick in the front row.
I'll see your Mahler and raise you two Mozarts.
mrmacrum, I'll enjoy it wherever I damn well please, for this is the land of the free and the home of the opposable thumb.
sunshine, it makes sense if you have access to a time machine. Do you? I want to buy some stock in Microsoft.
tengrain, merely lulling you into a false sense of security.
LBR, more Doug Henning!
sunshine, fine, but we'll just end up stealing another NHL team. Houston needs a hockey team.
tom, Snausages.
SWA, gasp! That's Tim Misny, Defender Of the Common Man and Professional Ambulance Chaser! He's a Cleveland legend in his own mind.
Surprisingly, not too many hippies on the wheelie bus. Bernstein is at his best with Mahler. With Beethoven, not so much.
We don't get SI, this is an academic library. I think we get Hustler, though. ;-)
BB, they really did waste a perfect opportunity, didn't they. Who wants to see Tommy Chong clones?
ricky, she was gonna make a pot for me!
susan, free the Springfield two! I see your two Mozarts and raise you a Bach.
Omg! I remember the Freedom Rock commercial. It sucked back then, too. :o(
