The last acts of a not-that-desperate man, or, do not, there is no try, or or, I'd rather be flying a kite than fucking around with this crap

Never understood snake handling, speaking in tongues, or flying a kite from stigmata wounds.

Snakes are cool, B.B.

That other stuff, not so much.

I'm not worried about getting the Stigmata because it would give me something to talk about on my blog....I'm running out of ideas.

I am working toward Sainthood, though. I want to be the Patron Saint of Slackers. I figure they won't petition me too much to help them, so I can continue my slacking life-style in heaven with all the benefits of being a Saint. Makes sense, right?

BDR, whither goest Payne? Canadastan?

BB and if, you guys couldn't be more wrong, especially if you spoke in tongues whilst having stigmata. Could totally fuck with other folks.

nunly, I ran out years ago, but illuminated manuscripts are keeping me going. Just wait until I learn origami.

Think you could achieve the Miracle of Doing Nothing for Months on End?

i seen a tv show about a snake handler in kentucky who explained how it was a part of his religion

he also walked the talk by going into a tract of land that was gonna be all dug up for strip mining to clear the snakes out so they wouldn't be harmed - he and a couple buddies did this

we saw him make a bit of money by doing some carpentry for the local gas station owner - with the money he got some things for his family

the show was respectful and i had a sense when it was done "this too, is a brother of mine"

about achieving sainthood - sainthood, in my opinion, consists of a)accurately perceiving what you ought to do in the situation you find yourself in, and b)doing it

as kurt vonnegut wrote in his book "the sirens of titan" (in which he has a character who founds the church of god the utterly indifferent) "a purpose of human life, no matter who is controlling it, is to love whomever is around to be loved"

entwining the snake and sainthood sentiments - i personally preach, and attempt to follow, the monty python creed - see

Payne's already signed with Toronto FC. If he's smart, his first move would be to move all the 1PM Saturday games to 730PM for the increase in concession sales alone.

Friar Tuck here would have been the first to discover electricity had he remembered to attach the key to the kite string. Funeral services were held at St. Marks.

BDR wouldn't that conflict with hockey night in Canada?

This adds a whole new dimension to the admonition 'go fly a kite'.

mistah mc, my luck I'd get bit and find out that I'm allergic to snake venom, so I'll stick to handling Creepy Crawlies. As long as someone isn't fucking with someone else, they can do whatever the hell they want. Except vote, of course.

BDR, I'm in favor of that simply because then I'd to get to watch more than Fucking LA at 10:30pm on Fux Soccerball.

demeur, Zeus is gonna strike you down for that blasphemy.

susan, badoomboom.

someday the light will shine for thee, O Pagan. Hopefully the bleedy hands are optional.

I agree, I'd also rather be flying a kite.

duchess, oh I'm fine, I simply decided to fully embrace the sidebar mantra and you're not fooling me one bit with your shining light.

tom, instead of a drone? Terrorist.

I gather from the tone of your headline it must not be cold, wet and dreary enough in Clevelandistan to suit you, even though it's almost December. My condolences.
