No, I do not know what shaden-frawde is. Please tell me, because I'm dying to know.

"It's a German term for `shameful joy', taking pleasure in the suffering of others.""

"Boy, those Germans have a word for everything! "

Oh, certain non-ethnic coworker, told you. Five bucks, pay up.

The schaden freudes itself, as I like to say.

Congratulations to Cleveland for Miami not winning!

Now I wish I'd watched that whole game, though I did get some writing done.

if, success through proxy isn't as exciting as one would think. Except in this case.

thatgirl, it certainly was enjoyable, but you can't casually wave off the muse when she stops by with inspiration, and hopefully pizza.

demeur, that was too obvious, so went with the more literary Simpsons reference. Cutting edge, huh.

Shade.

And Freud.

Two things needed on a hot sunny summer day of emotional confusion.

Watched the final quarter, LeBron is a spoiled punk. I saw he congratulated one or two Dallas guys but hauled ass to the locker room like a little boy who did not get his way soon after.

Speaking of schadenfreud...

“Hi, John Ziegler, this is Governor Sarah Palin,” said the familiar voice on my phone message. There was a pause. “From Alaska,” she added.
...
At this point, Sarah and I had met only once, but we were already developing a bizarre relationship. Over the almost three years that followed, we would often act like friends—while at other times she would act like she barely knew me.

Like okjimm said. I thought it was time for baseball, where there's hope the Mariners might not have another losing season.

I think Schadenfreude would be an excellent name choice for a third political party. It's a most popular indulgence.

karl of the österreich, don't forget the glass of freshly-squeezed lemonade.

BB, he really did have the air of just being there. It was odd, especially when thinking of the visceral Bird, Jordan, Garnett.

okjimm, game seven, Wednesday! If anyone's pumped up, I know it's you.

if, this is why I watch sports, the spectacle there or in toenail clipping, unlike campaignology, has meaning.

laura, at least that jerk showed up & was a little self-reflective after the fact. Though kudos to the Viscount for his shockingly honest rich-man dig at the little people.

tom, papers, please.

SWA, imagine how bad it's going to get when they trade Felix for a AA catcher and a six pack.

susan, that's a most excellent idea. Let's start soliciting donations now that most certainly will not be spent on pizza rolls & booze.
