Stoned plums retire to Florida and become stewed prunes. Their skin-parts that don't wrinkle, they resemble orange peel. And if they grew up in the 60s/70s, they can reminisce with this:

Stoned plum with orange peel, that sounds almost as yummy as "jellied eel and peanut bake." I used to see that listed on menus when I was in London but I never had the nerve to try it.
