Pretty ugly

Thought about resurrecting a blast from my blogging childhood, those halcyon days of Slingin' Derek, but then the dominoes fell like so much MechaNineleven laser blasts: Koschi the Deathless tussling with Ivar the Boneless in Baba Yaga's House of Mirth swear I'm gonna write that up one day, some bit about a psychic cat talking to Layne in the Great Hereafter, all that offensive offensive line play & hesitate & fourth quarter precipice jumping I jumped off a precipice in escape, & I came to realize that my prevailing mood is multiple, surging lava not rooted in said gridiron grotesquerie but I can't quite dig out where, underpinning a wakeful giddiness, rare & oft debilitating; today, tussling, each face assaulting the other, leaving me pretty ugly but with a Dennehy-as-Gacy grin.

The Skeadrins won, somehow.

Between that, Newton not being a bomb, & me failing to notice I used tussling twice, a forgivable offense if I was doing some meaningful versifying linkage not being lazy & dumb, I had a point, but I can't remember.

Roy said all bloggers had to have a 9-11 post or lose their union card.

We showed him!

U.S. Eagles played valiant defense in a noble defeat against the vaunted Irish side in their first match. A real wake up call to the world: we shall not be taken lightly!

I take you lightly, Jim.

Randal, I was thinking about you as the whole ugly thing unfolded on Red Zone, though I was certainly distracted by whatever the hell it was Scott Hanson did to his hair.

Also: why have a point?

Have a headache so bad it feels like a rabid pack of feral lawn gnomes have crawled into my ear and are now taking blow torches to what is left of my active gray matter, will have to read this again later.

if, I did post about 9/11, the Browns played & they lost. Next time I'll toss in some Serie A stuff.

jim, who? What?

landru, sweet merciful crap, we fucking lost to a team that started a rookie and finished with a Bruce Gradkowski. Time to revise those six wins down.

BB, the text is gibberish, just come back for the rock and/or roll.

I know. I'm terribly sorry. It makes my whine about having Rex Grossman as a quarterback and Kyle the Tranny Junior as an offensive coordinator seem awfully privileged, ne c'est pas?

Ah, the old Dennehy-as-Gacy grin -- the secret of millions of singles bar patrons' success.

Looking on the bright side, with Halloween just around the corner, that should come in handy.

landru, I completely expect both collections of humans masquerading as a football team to finish south of five wins, though, if Rex keeps this up, the Shanahans might sue you for slander.

Newton for MVP!

tom, if you're right, that speaks ill of the state of intimate relations.

thatgirl, I LEARNED IT BY WATCHING YOU!

SWA, given that we now live on a main road, trick-or-treaters are a myth, but there's always frightening the patrons at work, more than I already do.

Well it wasn't any picnic for Seattle either Bub. So don't feel like the Lone Ranger. But 33-17? Maybe they should start a minor league for the NFL.

Boy, dem Browns are on a super bowl roll, huh?

Randal Graves said...

if, that's t-shirt pyrite!

laura, not in the least.

demeur, not a bad idea, we should also introduce soccer-style relegation.

okjimm, hold the mayo.
