Thirty days of suck XVII: and it's working

Pro, con, whatever technology is, isn't, can, can't do, we're still fucked. I decided long ago to vanish through tunes stuffed in the below, one of a million gizmos full of parts paid for with the blood of third world kids by each & every one of us whilst slow-cook Ragnarok rages with just a touch of mellow smoothness.

Tomorrow, those shoes.

Great. Now my first world guilt is going to require me to take a sledgehammer to my iPod and go back to vinyl.

liberality, I knew you were a closet black metal fan.

if, & to the grind, not that I do much grinding at work. Gets in the way of the big pile of inbox slack.

lisa, oh, let me wash away that paralyzing guilt by pointing you here.

There, there, don't you feel better?

Graves, you swine!

And what is wrong with a little Up With People? You Negative Neds always see the class half empty instead of half poisoned.

Regards,

Tengrain

Enshrouded in his techno-earwomb of Ragnarokian bliss-krieg, Randal fades into coherentist stonerage spieling.

Who are we to question God's Will?

Nihilism will get you nowhere, and it's a lot less fun than seeing what a nifty new tablet gizmo can do.

While I don't want Third World kids spilling blood for tech goodies or anything else, I will remind you that it's only a matter of time before one of them gets your job — and with it, a big piece of your standard of living it up.

Hmm, maybe a bit of nihilism is justified after all.

Remember the story about the man who fell off the top of a 90 story building? As he passed the 10th floor he was heard to say, 'So far, so good'. As a culture we're like that.

* See my comment on Lisa's blog. I'm too lazy to rewrite it here.

Possibly related to R.G.'s interests.

tengrain, why do you think I've been stockpiling all this poison?

jim, why don't you make sense for once, dammit. A couple of eggs, half a stick of butter, a whole head of lettuce, some watery deli ham, and two cans of beer. Stir, bake at 375° for 12 minutes, serves two.

tom, few things grease up gears better than the blood of the young.

SWA, sir, do not confuse cynicism & nihilism, there is much that is lovely in existence. Black metal, for example. I fully expect us to be the future's cheap third world labor pool. Kind of poetic.

susan, that should be on a t-shirt, or at least a giant billboard at the foot of every bridge into the big city.

demeur, oh, and I'm supposed to be un-lazy and go read it?

if, oh yeah, I saw that and there's no way on Cthulhu's green earth that would ever fly here, more evidence of the uncoolness of Amerikanskis.
