I'm sure he has a good reason. You know, family commitments.

A GREAT Day for Senator bomb bomb McCain and his cheerleaders Bush/Cheney.

Man, I'd hate to end my career after being associated with Bush and the Iraq war. That's got to be a real low point.

His remarks on leaving didn't help-

“Recent press reports suggesting a disconnect between my views and the president’s policy objectives have become a distraction at a critical time and hamper efforts in the Centcom region,” Fallon said.

"And although I don’t believe there have ever been any differences about the objectives of our policy in the Central Command area of responsibility, the simple perception that there is makes it difficult for me to effectively serve America’s interests there,” Fallon added.

I share the same fucking OBJECTIVES as Fallon and Bush for that manner- A nuclear free Iran.

It's how we fulfill those objectives that seperated Fallon from Bush. His comments do not bode well.

frogette, this might be the first time ever that someone has resigned without mentioning his or her family. This calls for a Presidential Medal of Freedom!

poli, you've got that right. I know most people don't think these guys will do anything THAT stupid, but we'd be fools to assume anything but the worst with this gang of lunatics.

ME, I'm sure he's thinking "at least my ass won't get indicted."

dean, absolutely. Hell, I want a nuclear-free USA, but I also want some of that Spitzer money so I can travel - no really, I wouldn't spend it on hookers.

How long now will it be before we see some kind of manufactured "international incident" involving the Iranians? Maybe there will be some more campaigning in the media against Iran first, but I think the Bush administration just wants to start hitting Iran ASAP... I think we can probably expect some "shock and awe" this summer, although from what I have read, it might be more like "surgical strikes" that would target Iran's nuclear facilities and its military.

In all the talk about military action against Iran, I haven't seen much mention of Russia, China or the U.N. I doubt the administration really gives a crap about those things anyway.

Randal, I just don't have the enthusiasm to do the meme you tagged me for earlier. I'm having some personal problems related to family matters, in this case one of my kids, and it's kind of eating me up. I do like those kinds of memes though. Can I put it on the back burner for a while? Thanks for tagging me anyway, I like the fact that you were thinking of me! Things will get better at Snave House, but it might take some time.

How dare he disagree with the Boy King? He'll be lucky if he doesn't find a horse's head on his pillow.

Tom,
That was a good one!

Of Cthulhu has any power can he/she/it please go stop the madness in our government?

I never thought I would be so sad to see a general go...

Speaking of items on your sidebar, I think that the STFU poster may have been Fallon as a young solider!

Good one, Dean Wormer! I had not heard that quote.

I was just about to do a post on this resignation - hey, great minds.

I'm reneging on the meme, too - for now, anyway, Randal. I just did a couple of those that were similar. Sorry.

Once out of the Service, Admiral Fallon will be free to speak his mind in public. I'm looking forward to finding out what he has to say.

I have a video that I think you'll like at my blog, Randal. Don't worry, it's not about politics.

maybe Bush can start the war before he leaves office?

susan said...

the weird thing is they don't even bother trying to pretend there are good reasons anymore.. if they want to start another war before they leave office they'll do it no matter what anybody says. so far it's only been the military that's kept the lid on and I'm hoping they can hold out.

snave, that's exactly what I'm waiting for, unfortunately. And real life is always the top priority my friend, don't worry about the internets. Hope all goes well for you guys.

dcap, think of this as Fallon being put in 'time out.'

fot, little bush horner?

tom, I'm noticing a theme about not criticizing Der Leader. Well, he IS my commander-in-chief, too. If I actually owned a gun, and was in the army.

fran, Cthulhu's concerns are not our concerns. He will devour us when the time is right.

candace, by all means, pass if you wish!

baldwin, good point, let's hope it's actually something worthwhile.

ME, not politics? Then psaw! I shall not see it!

swinebread, don't forget the bonus of leaving another mess for the next president. That's the delicious icing!

susan, exactly. People will say "well, they don't have the troops, blah blah blah." And they've run their foreign policy by brilliant, time-tested strategery for the last 7 years? Sure, this one is a bit murkier because Russia won't exactly be real happy, but hey, McCain won't care, and they won't mind if Obama/Hillary has to deal with this. America means nothing to them but a means to amass power and loot.

Bomb Bomb ran is the new GOP theme song, and McConJob must be dancing for joy that Fallon is now under the GOP bus.

dguzman said...

Given my earlier prediction that BushCo would declare war on Iran and then refuse to step down during the "time of turmoil," I'm getting really effing worried now.

Me too, DG.
