New Year's resolution: recycling old posts

If I may be permitted to alter the words of the late, great Jose Chung:

"Well, all's well that ends well. Though that's easy for Shakespeare to say -- he'll be around for another year. But what of our own year? Will it all end well? No one can know, but that of course doesn't stop anyone from guessing. And the nature of those predictions always revolve around the usual suspects: salvation and/or self-satisfaction. With that in mind, I humbly add my own prophecy of what the dawn of the new year shall bring forth: three hundred sixty-five days of the same, old crap."

The thing is Randal, you're not wrong. Everyone will spend the first few weeks of the year trying to carry out their 'resolutions' but will gradually resort the the "same old, same old".

Therefore, may I wish you a Very Crappy New Year! ;-)

Regards pal, David.

One of my Christmas presents was a book of famous quotes. (Cheap damn bastard but that's a whole other story.)

But here is one I like and since I'm fighting a Category four hangover it fits in a way:

Mark Twain
New Year's Day… now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual.

Happy New Year to you, Randal, and to all here.

Graves, you swine!

When you reach perfection, you no longer need resolutions. I'm too lazy to make resolutions, and I know from the start that I won't do any of them.

Maybe I should resolve to drink more booze or something?

Regards,

Tengrain

As usual I have high hopes for a better 365 day cycle, and as usual I will bear witness to seeing them dashed on the rocky shores of existence. To look on the bright side, suffering and disappointment are all part of our crawl, walk, run, and stagger to our certain demise. On that cheerful note I hope your 2010 is better than you could have wished for.

I plan to paint more this year than I did last year. Might as well pretty up the place a little bit. I hope you get to write stuff you find satisfying and that you keep on making us laugh through the disgust.

Happy 2010, Randal.

Well that was cheerful. :)
Exactly what I needed after a long night and long day...

Enjoy your time off!
See you soon sweetie!

Happy 2010, Randal - and maybe same old crap is better than new crap. New crap can be worse. "Better the devil you know...."

No real resolutions for me...I only break them.

Are you the old curmudgeon in this picture? Hey, it looks like you are going to succeed in reading a lot of books at least.

Happy New Year Randal!

Will the 365 days be half-full, or half-empty?
