Hey feds, if you're going to get all hot and bothered about this, shouldn't you have about this? If only poor Mr. Prieto was a friend of Halliburton. Because if you're not....
"Cash rules everything around me!"
"What about me?"
"Shut the fuck up and smile for the camera."

I really felt for that Mexican driver. They didn't even f*ckin' charge him.
And that stop where he got taken? It's just about an hour outside my hometown. I know it well--almost got thrown in the slammer there myself by a couple of racist Border Patrol agents who didn't like the idea of an Anglo boy traveling with a Hispanic girl (my girlfriend at the time). We were headed back to school and when they started hassling us I almost told them to shove their contempt up there ass.
The whole thing is a joke. The Lou Dobbs' Border Patrol had the only probable cause they need: he was brown. And I love the bit about "prove that your cash didn't come from selling illegal drugs." No, feds, prove that it did. What's that? No evidence? Then fuck off. I can't imagine that he's the only trucker or other person with a non 9-5 cubicle job who has decided to NOT use the bank anymore. And now this poor guy is out of HIS money because of institutional and individual bias that's all-but-permanently burned into the skin of this country.
Guilty until proven innocent. If I didn't know any better, I'd swear that that's becoming more and more common. But then I tell myself we're a shining city on a hill and it's morning, but everyone might be a terrorist or swarthy, oh, republicans, why must you confuse me so?
