Bellbottoms, bitchin' Camaros and Foghat

Retro, baby. I've been tagged by the lovely and talented b with yet another meme. Some internets denizens love these things, finding them akin to a soft, fuzzy virtual animal. Others find them as repulsive as a tapeworm painfully eating your gastrointestinal tract. I tend towards the former view because it helps me fill the day's posting quota. In this particular case, I especially love it because I don't have to think one iota, 0.9 above my usual capacity of iotas. Peruse the rules before foolishly clicking on the links, chumps:

Rules of the Meme:
1. Post 5 links to 5 of your previously written posts. The posts have to relate to the 5 keywords given below:

Family
Friendship
Self
Love
Anything

2. Tag 5 other friends to do this meme. Try to tag at least 2 new acquaintances (if not, your current blog buddies will) so that you can get to know them each a little bit better.

3. Read the archived posts and leave comments if you'd like to.

Yes, I sort of cheated in that I haven't exactly written anything on friendship, just been forced to do something by my so-called friends. I'm still cookin' up the revenge, just you wait. It's gonna be something nukyular. So, if my taggees have nothing applicable, just change a word around or combine a couple. Self and love, for example.

I tag the following suckers pals, new and old: dguzman, Madam Z, DCup, The Cunning Runt, FranIAm. Randal's Rules Of Order still apply.

Woot, a meme and I'm not tagged (dancing like an idiot) and so I can enjoy. You forgot to tag it "narcissism" though.

I was glad for the link back to your poem and the touching friendship these blog friends offered in convincing your ass that your writing rocks, ya moron.

DId I just call you a moron? I guess since I am linked in your family one, I finally feel entitled to lavish you with familial abuse.

Much loves.

Major props dude. Fabulous examples. And you should listen to Freida bee because she's right...uh...about the writing part. I still haven't known you long enough to call you a moron.

(No idea why I feel the need to call you 'dude'?)

I thought about tagging you, but the last time I did prompted you to open your subsequent post with a good dosage of surly - go check if you don't believe me - so I smartly avoided pissing off my favorite laureate because you could easily kick my ass with your poetical kung fu.

Though, just for that insult - though is it an insult if it's true? - I ain't posting another poem on here ever again. Muah!

Go on and say whatever you wish, mon amie, just don't be familial in any wingnut way. Though, given your love of Special K, I don't think I need to worry over that point. You're the knee of the bee, Freida.

Colleen, 'cause dude is what us t-shirt wearing dorks and geeks say. Lack of refinement.

There's one thing I learned about your blog from this meme, Randal...you write some damned good stuff. I was especially fond of that warm and fuzzy post you picked for "family". Awwwww...nothing says sweet family love like "...the Robot Santa will fucking kill you!" It brought a tear to my eye, Randal, it really did!

One of these days I gotta learn to duck!

Colleen, is a PS2 controller okay?

ME, oh, I was hoping that would be you favorite, too! Actually, I like it the most because of the scantily-clad babe. You don't have anything like that on underneath your habit, do ya? ;-)

TCR, muahahahaha, escape from the meme is impossible!

Randal, since you so nicely said you don't mind memes, I just tagged you for the Environmental meme that Fran tagged me for!

Oh, you do retro so very well, my friend! Love the Dazed and Confused pic!

It was great going back to read those few posts you wrote before our paths crossed. I certainly feel your writing woes but I do wish you'd post some poetry now and then. But as I type that, I realize that I don't post my writing (not that I really write anything cohesive these days!) and maybe just writing what we do on our blogs is enough to fuel notre élan vital?! Here's hoping at least. Cheers, dude!

Oh... and thanks again for accepting the meme tag! :)

Randal Graves said...

mauigirl, oh shit, a serious one? Dammit. ;-)

b, I love that movie! You might be right, because the blog scribblings are often all I've got. And I think I can only muster up the courage once a year to post a poem. Give me a few months. :)

You tagged me! That is COOL!

Is that you in the pic? You are HAWT!

Now, for the subject matter. That's going to be a bit difficult. I don't think I've written anything about anybody except my "self." I may be able to dig up something about "anything," though. Here I go....

Randal Graves said...

If I looked like that, my wife would actually want to have sex with me. Muah.

And go ahead and change it up, I had to wiggle a little bit of the actual meanings myself!

This is another cool meme! I was trying to read all the links in it yesterday, but my laptop kept stalling out. Had no problem with it today (was Mercury retrograde or something?) Anyway, I enjoyed the trip back to see your writing. I hope we'll get to see lots more of it this year.

I bet it was one of those spying bugs sent by the feds. And maybe, although if I keep on getting tagged, then I won't have to put that much thought into a post which fits right in with my Lazy Man routine. Though I'll show some if you do. :)

Madam Z said...

Darn! I goofed up your blog address when I posted my "archived posts." I'll fix it now.

FranIAm said...

Oh dear= I've got work to do!

Being the recalcitrant be-yotch that I am, I am getting to this.... slowly!

dguzman said...

aw, ya bastidd.... okay... I'll do it. Check back tomorrow, probably on my politix site.

Fran and dguzman, remember, I never force anyone at gunpoint to the do the meme. I'm a sweet, gentle hippie. Peace, ladies.
