State of the Asshole

"I got this far being one, why stop now, heh, heh."

President George W. Bush will begin "unprecedented steps'' to trim billions of dollars earmarked by lawmakers for pet projects, a White House spokesman said.
I'm guessing he means these kind of pet projects, and not these kind.
In his State of the Union address tonight, Bush will promise to "veto any spending bill that does not succeed in cutting earmarks in half from 2008 levels,'' deputy press secretary Tony Fratto said in an e-mail.
Sweet! Another chance to watch Democrats cave in the days ahead! I wonder how they'll do it this time: the Harry Reid Hustle, the Animal House 'thank-you-sir-may-I-have-another,' the cower in a corner curled up into a little ball. That's called freedom of choice, baby. God Bless America!
Bush will issue an executive order tomorrow directing federal agencies to ignore any earmarks included only in committee reports, not in the text of legislation.
An executive order? Ah, that takes me back.
Bush will say that if spending for such projects is warranted, then "Congress should debate them in the open and hold a public vote,'' Fratto said.
Damn right they should. Right, Dick?

People will begin to call you "Pollyanna" if you continue to have such unbridled, wide-eyed enthusiasm for the political process, Randal.

Where do I go now that I've maxed out on hate? This guy is now just funny, but he's still dangerous and horrible and an asswipe....

Thank god his term is almost over.

I just love the way he generalizes and says "earmarks are bad!" like they're the cause of our insurmountable debt, rather than his military-industrial giveaways and his wars. What a fuckwad.

I'm worn out from his stupidity and arrogance. Nothing he does surprises me anymore.

Is that executive order constitutional? Congress has power of purse strings not president.

Is this a real unedited picture? OMG! I cannot believe my eyes. I mean he has been saying this metaphorically. But to literally do it...OMG!!

I'll probably watch his Station of the Union speech tonight, for the same reason that people stare at a grisly car accident instead of looking away.

Thank God it'll be his last SOTU speech. (Or will it???)

Why does he feel the need to ruin my birthday?

State of the asshole? We're screwed.

I know it's easy to think that he has little time left, but if Randal's post didn't cheer you up, let me remind you that since Bush has reputedly told at least 935 lies in his seven years in office so far, if he keeps up his average pace, we can expect about 133 more lies in this, his last year in office.

You're welcome.

Freida Bee said...

Actually, that was the number of lies about Iraq in only 2 years, from 2001-2003. Still, I am sure 133 is a conservative number of lies Bush will tell, and I'm thinking tonight will be a ripe opportunity to improve his ratings, but I'll have to retract my original statement and estimate the numbers to be much higher, but I have no evidence in my greedy little hand. I have something else in it.

The thing that gets me is he acts as if only Democrats attach those so-called earmarks! The nerve.

State of the Asshole - that's good.

I have barely had time to blog, read a blog or anything else. So when 9pm rolled around last night, I consciously chose not to watch him. My time is too valuable to waste on his b.s.

I wrote this somewhere else this morning, but honestly... we spent so much time and money (we the nation not we like us!) on the Starr report etc and here we are today.

Actual real crimes, lies and evil are all around and yet... well you know.

I am astounded, saddened, dismayed and now have to get back to my non-blogging life.

Hope to be back on the 'tubes more consistently soon.

A bientot!

Dr. Zaius, I know, I've been thinking of toning down my optimism.

dcup, once hate is no longer an option, the only plausible place to hang your hat is ennui.

colleen, you can fuck up a lot of shit in over 300 days!

dguzman, "you don't see the war on the budget, do you, heh, heh."

dean wormer, better tell that to this Congress.

LBR, Dubya would never stoop to such immature behavior. He's the very model of a modern major president!

Tom, I understand your sentiments, but did you actually watch? You might need therapy to cope!

catherine, "happy birthday, democrat party person, in your honor, I'm gonna invade your town, heh, heh."

FB, I'm sure the rate will go up, as didn't it go down slightly the last couple of years?

mauigirl, only Democrats do! Tax and spend, that's all they know!

Fran, that's still what boggles the mind, all that money and time wasted on a fucking blow job. The dude could've had trysts that made Larry Flynt blush. Who fucking cares. We have war criminals who should be in jail until they die running the country and it's 'la dee fucking da.'

It's stunning that I can't still be worked up by what a fucking asshole he is.

Jess Wundrun said...

When I heard him say that he would veto any measure that came before him loaded with earmarks, I said to Ben Wundrun that I hope the dems load up any Iraq War bill with all the earmarks they can think of.

Subsidized swimming pools in all sheep barns? Have at it.

Randal Graves said...

swinebread, that you can or can't? I just want to be sure if you're still mad as hell or resigned to the idiocy of the human race. ;-)

jess, that's an excellent idea!
