I keep on having this recurring dream where I smash neocons and their corporate paymasters under my thumb. Then I wake up and they're still in charge. Dammit.

I know life's a bummer baby, but that's got precious little to do with me

Make the dream higher, Randal!
Sadly Randal
I think you will wake up every day for the rest of your life having the NeoCons in charge.
There seems to be no movement, no real desire to truly shift this country as dramatically and quickly as it needs shifting.
All that means is we're going to get more war, more tax dollars to the military industrial complex, and more debt while our infrastructure crumbles and childen become even less educated than they are now.
I keep having that same dream too. Maybe if enough of us keep having that dream we can materialize it.
Who Hijacked Our Country
My head hurts too much right now to listen to the music, but I hear ya about the neocons.
It is an appropriate time of year to be saying "I have a dream..."
Sleep on, my brother. It's better than being awake in a neocon world.
I for one welcome our neocon masters.
Unless they're not in the room. In that case I fart in their general direction, ze English pig-dogs.
Sheesh...Randal, I hope when you're having these dreams of smashing neocons, you aren't attacking your wife in your sleep.
I remember going to sleep one time, thinking that there was no way Bush would win against Gore....and then I woke up to the nightmare that we're all still experiencing today.
Jung called this a compensation dream. As long as you dream it the neocons will stay in charge--if you quit dreaming it maybe they won;t be.
Candace, that's why the world needs people like you, mon ami, to offset the über-cynics like me. :)
Poli, and like you. Sadly, I think you're right. Look at the decent public push we got in 2006, and even with some decent efforts that the media decided to not report on, I think it's safe to say this Dem-led congress wasn't all they cracked themselves up to be.
Tom, we'd need a giant Monty Python-esque thumb. There are a lot of vile fuckers to squish.
POP, next time I'll put up something quieter. ;-)
Dr. Zaius, I'm sure my means of ending evil differs just a wee bit from the great MLK's.
dguzman, sleep, sleep, perchance to dream about squishing bastards. Aaahhhh, that's nice...
dean wormer, ask for Python and ye shall receive! It's a sign! The giant thumb is coming!
ME, oh hell no. If I did, she'd probably kick me in the sack. And my typing would have a much higher pitch. Actually, I usually dream about naked...Marge!
LBR, I like me some Jung, but here the dude is way off base. I've had dreams where the neocons were even worse. Then I woke up and they were still in charge. ;-)
I think you'd be better off to dream of trains and tunnels.
If I did, I wouldn't profess that to the Freudians and Jungians floating on the internets, but save it for some verse!
You can play that game wherein you hold up your thumb and first finger, pinch them together and say "I'm crushing your head, I'm crushing your head." So much fun!
Randal,
I have a similar dream.
In my dream, they're sent into space, en masse, but when I turn around, they're still here, waging war and destroying the country.
Colleen, now I'm thinking of Animal House. "I'm a zit. Get it?"
Christopher, hmm, outer space isn't a bad idea. I'm sure we have some extra Saturn Vs lying about somewhere.
