There are always stocked spirits here. After the last two elections I'm afraid to think about this one for any time. How many heartbreaks can a person take?
Grate post, I din't read it tho, but the pics are exclent.
You kno what they say, pic woth a 1000 words.
January. That's when we really celebrate because whomever wins the presidency their last name won't be Bush.
The anniversary of King Haile Selassie's funeral - Eyrie eyrie maaahhhn!
Note to self: Close bookstore the day after election day so I can recover from too much drink and not enough sleep.
one thing i look forward too every april fools is the prank from (the) google.
happy fish on your back day.
POP, with the aide of booze, more than we should be expected to.
fairlane, i agre but sum pcs wort mor than othrs.
dean, but if it's The Maverick®, our drinking will not be celebratory.
dr. zaius, oh shit, it's on that day? Cancel all festivities!
angie, just once, I'd love to go to bed at around 11, fully confident that the non-psychopath is winning, but we know better.
fot, the google, is that on the internets?
April Fool? Shit&stuff....GWB is a fool all year, A fool for all seasons, A Texas Fool, but, No fooling, he ain't my fool
Drinks anyone?!
Where can I get a drink?!
Jack Daniels, anyone?
Ok. It is off topic, like, wowsers &stuff...there is a topic on April Fool's Day!!!!.....but I have been reading quotes and I kinda liked this one...
'Whatever I take, I take too much or too little; I do not take the exact amount. The exact amount is no use to me.'
~Antonio Porchia, Voces, 1943, translated from Spanish by W.S. Merwin
It sounded so Randal-ish.
I will buy beer for everyone!!! But'cha gotta hurry...offer only good for the next ten minutes.
You so could have written that cartoon. DId you.
okjimm, won't get fooled again!
fran, we don't serve alcohol here. I don't know where you got that crazy idea!
LBR, but you do, dontcha!
okjimm, that is a great quote! If I ever decide to take something, I will definitely follow those words. As for the drinks, how about you offer to buy about 8 AM instead?
FB, oh hell no, that's award-winning Ted Rall. I just write bad snark and even worse poems.
8am sounds fine. But I do live in the small pocket of WI that is semi-civilized. The Pubs do not open until 9am. So 8am it is just coffee, buddy. Coffee just gets me jittery, and then I have to drink beer to calm down.
Like OKJimm, I'll start with coffee, so I can stay awake to drink as long as possible.
I fear we're gonna need it even more in the coming months.
Um, yeah - there's still some unopened champagne from the 2000 election.
okjimm and dguzman, I'm never one to turn away coffee, but I drink so much, I never get jittery. That's probably a bad sign.
candace, this time, let's hope we're not reduced to letting fruits o' the vine age.
