Geek-o-rama

Since lovely and talented Vacuum Vixen Freida Bee believes me to be lazy -- hey, I told my wife I'd clean the basement a little later, I swear -- right after this MLB tripleheader -- I've decided to prove her instincts correct and steal from her the concept of legendary comedian Dr. William Henry Cosby, Jr. invading other creative territory then, through harnessing the awesome power of Jello Pudding Pops, fabricating an entirely new and fantastic realm of entertainment. Thus, Two Great Tastes, anime style.

This is more of The Artist's gig, but I watched me some Robotech growing up. Was Minmei annoying as fuck, or what? Whined as much as we Americans do on the economy.

Since we're on the subject of annoying whiners, how 'bout them neocons?

"And that, my liege, is how we know the Earth to be banana-shaped."
"This new learning amazes me, Sir Bedemir. Explain again how manufacturing lies may be employed to prevent diplomacy."

Since we're on the subject of science fiction -- no, that was first thing, damn you, linear progression of time! -- I've recently noticed not one, not two, but three reports of scary-as-Cheney-in-your-house insect hubris. This is what happens when you screw with the environment -- the environment fights back! Don't believe me? Then you need to watch this short documentary!

Don't take Mother Nature for granted, or she'll send you to your room!

"Without any supper?"

"Oh, there'll be supper alright....you!"

Thank goodness you spared us the snakes fighting back documentary. I'd be checking myself into our local behavioral health clinic... Tarantulas... no problem. Snakes... Agh! Run for your lives!

I would comment, but that would encourage you to put off your household chores.

So much good here...

First- Holy Grail rocks. You can pretty much tell how someone ranks on the cool/ not cool meter by what they think of that movie.

Second- the bugs are taking over. Make no mistake about it. I found fleas on my dog last night. Coincidence? I don't think so.

And fifth- Is that Kingdom of the Spiders? The ending of that movie is awesome. The whole town covered in webs. So creepy for the time.

Cleaning the carpet was such a chore until I bought my Oreck.

It was a little steep to purchase but man, does it ever clean and we have a blonde Lab who never stops shedding, so it was well worth it.

I can't imagine being without my Oreck. I told Freida but I think she already settled on another brand.

angie, hang on, I'm writing this down for future reference.

übermilf, like I'd do them anyway, pshaw and scofflaw and such.

dean, Holy Grail is one of those flicks that you CAN watch over and over. It's nearly perfect.

Fleas? On a dog? Move. To Antarctica. Now.

I'll take a fifth. Hell yeah, some of Shatner's finest work. You're right about the ending. Amidst all the killer bee disaster flicks, there was another evil spider movie from the 70s, but I can't remember what it was. Oh, if only I had access to The Google.

christopher, we've got hardwood floors, so all we have to worry about are furballs birthed by our cats. That seemingly multiply on their own.

Funny Bill Cosby video. A few years ago somebody on Mad TV did this hilarious Cosby imitation. It was just a caricature, totally exaggerated, but anybody tuning in in the middle of it would know it was Cosby.

Following those links got me onto some seriously cool blogs. I need another hour in my day. What can science fiction do about that?

Randal Graves said...

tom, if you've seen Cowboy Bebop it's extra comical because the creator did a brilliant job of mimicking the introduction.

That's why we love the caricatures. For that reason, I'll miss Bush, the little scamp.

Off topic - wait, everything is on topic, screw you, Graves! - did you get a chance to hear the new Metallica single?

BE, there's some good stuff out there, believe you me. Oh come on, didn't you watch Star Trek? Just reroute something through the shields, link the phasers to the engines, beam someone down, et voilà. 48 hours in the day.

Shatner in rare form! Christopher, I absolutely LOVE the Oreck guy in the commercials. His soothing voice and the guarentee! I wanna rub his bald little head...

Bush, is that you?

When my wife bought the Dyson vacuum cleaner we have I felt like I had gotten a new hot rod. Wasn't that Zaius they had in that cooler the other day saying it was Bigfoot?

I saw into Oreck's soul Randal!!

Are you and Freida taking the same drug? Honest to god, I think you're both going bipolar and in the manic phase. If you were merely hypo-manic you would have been able to polish off that post, clean the whole house, and eat a bushel of puddin pops before noon.

MLB and science fiction: I am a Seattle Mariners fan, which represents the marriage of both those worlds.

As for the neocons, I wave my private parts at their aunties and I fart in their general direction.

I have also actually seen Cowboy Bebop here and there, as my daughters were totally into that for a while. I tried to get them into some of the animated Aeon Flux series, but they just weren't impressed. What they don't know! Sigh...

On second thought, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place.

Now I'm off to finish vacuuming the cat.. if I can find him.

BB, perhaps it was a trick by Zaius to divide and conquer humanity. Never trust a primate!

bradda, HA!

stella, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say nee at will to old ladies.

utah, all that sounds plausible, but remember Occam's Razor; I'm just lazy and weird.

AHB, should have won Best Picture, dammit! Hey, I figure June wasn't all that happy with Ward despite him being a little stiff.

snave, ha! Deciphering the Mariner's organizational plan would be like trying to crack hieroglyphics without the Rosetta stone. Oh man, I remember Aeon Flux! That's gotta be on DVD.

susan, heh. Hmmm, I might have to try vacuuming our cats, though sometimes they get a bit ornery if all we're doing is brushing their fur.

Puddin' Pop- Oops, I forgot to say thanks for the linkerationalizationing the other day here.

I may have said it a little too late in my own comments, but I've got my long-term sights on Dyson and Oreck, you know, for marriage, but my cheap and tawdry affair with Bissell will have to suffice for now in these lean times while Kirby's ticker's down, but the Gospel of Kirby stateth, "Oh, ye who have faith in the power of the screw shall be blessed when the inevitable sucking of Kirby resumeth forth from the eternal rebuilding of thine heart (or motor in modern translations."

(I also think that may answer Utah's question. Dear, Judgeth not your faithful readers, for they will provideth you with the means to think ye sane... by contrast.)

Is this where I send you five dollars for a brochure on the wonders of Bissel, amen?

"Dyson and Oreck"--kinda has a ring to it. Like "Obama and Biden." (?) Or "Jood and Nunly." [Yeah, that's better.]

OMG, where did you dig up that great trailer with William Shatner? I'm going to have nightmares about tarantulas tonight. Reminds me of "Them" - the one about the giant ants. Eeew!
