The Good, the Bad and the Ugly 11

The Good: Our first complete team game! Woo! Sipe The Tall really threaded the ball, The Edwards/Winslow Show caught all the tough tosses, Jamal Lewis ran like a crazy mofo, but perhaps the brightest spot was rookie corner Brandon McDonald, he of the stature not much higher than mine, turning Pro Bowler Andre Johnson into chopped solid waste. Or was it the defense, that hit hard...

The Bad: ...and didn't suck? Quoi ? DA's first and only pick was a stupid throw, but the bad was few and far betw - oh, yeah, STOP with the fucking penalties, dammit!

The Ugly: Eli Manning's performance - oops, I was scouring the brain for anything extraordinarily grotesque in our game, and there really wasn't.

Up next: in sunny Arizona, where it'll probably still be near 80 degrees. I hate these games. We're good enough to win, but also bad enough to lose. I don't know if I buy the whole 'cross-country roadtrips tire you out,' though. They fly on fucking chartered jets and eat steak. Suck up and get the win against an inferior opponent. The p-word is nearer with each victory!

I thought you might be in your happy place today, and you are.

Eli looked like he was lost in space yesterday. Bizarre!

The bad news for me was I found out yesterday that only those who have the NFL package will get to see the Cowboys/Packers game Thurs night. That package can only be bought by those who have Direct TV, not Comcast. Since we have Comcast, no viewing for us.
We could go to a sports bar and watch it but the damned games come on so late and last so long we would be dead on Friday morning.

Needless to say, I am not in my happy place.

I had a wonderful sports weekend. Mizzou beat Kansas City..Wooohooo!

and, the Chicago Bears won a game that they should never have won. As always, they played well in the first half and then fell apart in the second half. But...what's this? They pulled out of it and won by 3 points!

That was fun for a change and I didn't even have to get drunk to enjoy the game.

Hey, what the HELL happened to everyone today? My blog is as dead as a doornail and as I'm cruising through the other blogs, it seems the comments are way down. Was there a rapture that I wasn't included in or something? It's lonely and scary on the blogosphere today.

Or...is it that I'm the only one without a life around here. That's even more depressing.

Sigh...

I tell ya, the best sport to watch on TV is women's vollyball. I don't even keep score!

Congrats, Randal; knew your guys had it in them.

How 'bout that Cowboys-Jets score? I won't mention it here, on account-a I'm so sweet...

I too hate the hot-weather games. Football was made for snow and cold, not sun and palm trees.

Your team wins and my Redskins manage to turn it over 6 times in a loss to Tampon Bay.

I saw the highlights last night and heard Golic on Mike n Mike talking about your game this morning.

As for me I'm happy to see the Bears win a game. Since my Algebra I class has predicted (3 weeks ago) the Bears to go 7-9.

But Hester's fun. He looked a guy in a video game yesterday.

POP, we're lucky in that we have the NFL Network, but I don't think the NFL expected the Packers to be 10-1, hence an obscure cable game.

ME, well, I can only speak for me, but I work Saturdays instead of Mondays, so I'm off. And since the kids are in school, it's the perfect time to catch up on some reading. Other than that, I'm as lifeless as you. Wait, that makes us sound fucking horrible.

Dr. Zaius, after much soul-searching, you might be right. What red-blooded primate doesn't love babes in hot pants?

dguzman, I really cannot take all of you Cowboys' fans. I can only imagine what horrors Friday will present if the unthinkable happens and you guys beat the Pack.

Dr.Monkey, I can't bring myself to gurgle up some snark after the whole Sean Taylor thing. Fucking tragic.

Tomcat, I can understand the kickoffs, given that if you go out of bounds, you get it at the 40, but don't punters practice angling things out of bounds anymore?

mathman, hey, 100 rating on Madden. :) That chart ESPN had up was ridiculous. 27 games played, TEN return TDs already?
